What does the filter creation process look like?
We begin by having a discussion of your project, campaign or vision, and collaborate to find the best solution. If applicable, you share your artwork and any assets that will be included. We will build the filter, do an agreed number of editing rounds, and each time share a testing link that you can use to try out the filter.
When we reach the desired end product, we will share the files and guide you to publish the filter on Facebook’s filter platform (or do it for you). The filter will then go through Facebook’s own internal vetting process, and should be approved and published within 10 working days (current estimate as of May 2020). Et voilà! Your own filter, ready to be shared.
Where can I find my custom filter?
We will produce the filter, and it will be published on your Instagram profile, where people can find it under the filter section (see image). When anyone uses the filter on their story, Instagram will add a direct link to the filter, so any viewers can find and try it out too. You can also add a link to “swipe up for camera effect” on your own story content to further promote and direct people to the filter.
You can also share a direct link to the filter. Why not add a QR code on your invitations or a banner ad on your website? Perhaps a link to a filter would be an unexpected and nice touch on a company newsletter.
We can also coordinate with you to help create content to promote the filter.
How do I know if the filter is working?
Instagram will capture metrics to follow the popularity of your filter. You will be able to see the impressions (The number of times this effect has been displayed in the Instagram camera or in a shared story on Instagram), number of content captured and the number of times it has been shared. You can follow the daily data captured to see how far the filters are reaching.
Filters give your audience the opportunity to become your ambassadors and spread your message for you, but they also know their worth and have their own audience to think about. This is something you must keep in mind while creating your custom filter – what is its value to your client? Is the filter good looking, interesting, relevant or funny enough to be shared? We can help you create a filter that ticks boxes for both you and your audience.
